William J. "Bill" Lucas

William J. “Bill” Lucas Sr. 92 of New Lexington passed away Wednesday February 1, 2023, at the Pickering House, Lancaster.

He was born January 22, 1931, in Trenton, New Jersey, a son of the late Mike and Mary Peters Lucas.

He worked road construction for Shelly Company; he was a former Saltlick Township trustee, and he was a lifelong farmer.

He is survived by his children Bill (Sheree) Lucas, Janice Blanc, Tom (Bev) Lucas, Susie (Steve) Abram, Mike Lucas, Rick (Annette) Lucas, Bob Lucas, Timmy Lucas, Larry (Janet) Lucas, Lisa (Jeff) Hill and Karen Hutchinson, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Irene E.(Glass)Lucas; his daughters Marsha I. Greene and Vicky Poling; his brothers Mike Lucas and Julius Lucas; his sisters Genny Johnson, Mary Vargas and Julia Vargas; son in laws Jan Blanc and Don Neff.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday February 4, 2023, at the J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Shawnee with Rev Dan Hinkle officiating.

Interment: Springer Cemetery, Hemlock.
