William R. “Bill” Doss 87 of Corning was born July 17, 1934, in Splint Kentucky to Hobart and Dorothy Doss; he passed away after a short illness at the Laurels of Athens on November 9, 2021.
He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran; a member of the Millertown Church; he retired from Peabody Coal Company after 25 years as an electrician; he also repaired appliances in Perry County before he retired; he loved to fish.
He is survived by his children Jeff (Tammy) Doss, Jody (Dianna) Doss, Jackie Doss, Libby Doss, Becky (Dane) Founds; his grandchildren Levi (Keista) Hamilton, Thea (Phil) Hamilton, Johnnie ( Amy) Warren, Clementine (Brian) Thacker, Wyatt (Brittany) Founds, Stacey Valentine, Kylah Doss, Kristin Doss, Alia (Seth) Allen, and Jeffrey Doss; great grandchildren Kida Hamilton, Regan Warren, Bennie Warren, Bentley Thacker, Shaylynn Shoults, Laikynn Founds, Jenson Founds, Silas Thomas, Grayson Meadows, Michael Valentine, and Matthew Valentine; his brother Danny (Betty) Doss; his sister in laws Joan Doss, Betty Daniels and Linda McGirt; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Billie Sue Doss; his granddaughter Jessie and his brother Clarence; brother in laws Thomas McGirt and Don Daniels
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday November 13, 2021, at the Oakwood Cemetery, Corning with Rev Richard Fitch officiating
