Wayne F. Rostash, 85, of Zanesville, formerly Shawnee, passed away on May 26, 2026, at The Morrison House of Genesis Hospice.
Wayne was born on May 19, 1941, in Hemlock, Ohio, the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Fargo) Rostash.
Wayne retired in 2002 after 38 years as an accountant for the Rankin and Rankin Insurance company of Zanesville. He was a 1959 Graduate of Shawnee High School, attended Ohio University, and graduated from The Meredith Business College.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved father and mother-in-law William and Elizabeth Walters; grandparents John and Elizabeth Rostash and John and Elizabeth Fargo; his aunts and uncles Vergie and Bert Rostash, Rose and Vincent Rostash, and John Rostash; sister and brother-in-law Phyllis and Roy (Pete) Lanning; niece Catherine Lanning; and nephew Joe Winnenberg.
Survived by his wife Melvena( Walters) Rostash Whom he married on August 1 1959; his children David Rostash (Mary), Robert Rostash, and April Johnson (Shane); his precious grandchildren Jennifer Hague (Trevor), Andrew Rostash, Jesse Rostash (Amy Carpenter), Toni Rostash (Haden Wallis), Cole Rostash (Jessi), Gunnar Johnson, Ian Rostash (Brooke Kullik); his precious great-grandchildren Brianna Larimer, Paisleigh Rostash, Noah Rostash, Sadie Rostash, Trevor Hague Jr., Averleigh Hague Baileigh Hague, Piper Wildes, and expected grandchild Raelynn Rostash; brother and sister-in-law William (Butch) and Linda Walters; nieces and nephews Jeannie Winnenberg, Bill Lanning, Mike Lanning (Tera), Lori Gaitten (Tom), Bill Walters (Toni); cousins Eleanor Sherman and Norma Weiland (Hal), and many friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday May 29, 2026, at the New Straitsville Cemetery with the Rev Richard Fitch Officiating.
