Theodore Leonard “Ted” Altier of Rendville, passed away on Saturday October 29, 2022 at Mount Carmel East Hospital, Columbus, Ohio after an extended illness.
Ted was born on July 8, 1956 in Zanesville,Ohio to the late Patrick Joseph Altier and Lorena Seals Altier, both of Corning.
Ted was an exceptionally talented guitar player and played lead guitar in "The Lab Rats", a local rock band. He shared his enthusiasm and skills with anyone who took interest. He always had a smile on his face, a joke to tell and music in his soul. His collection of fine guitars would be hard to match. He had a wealth of friends, buddies and loved to wheel and deal, especially in cars and guitars. He was also an exceptional wallpaper hanger running his own business for many years, TLA Designs.
He drove several hours to meet a friend’s friend on an airport layover, who thought she'd be perfect for him. That was when he met the love of his life, Corlyn Speake. Ted and Corlyn married in 1994 and she opened up an EMS billing business that he assisted as her go to person. She also opened his life to many new and wonderful experiences.
Ted was preceded in death by his wonderful wife on March 29, 2020. Additionally he was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gerald L. “Jerry” Altier, Daniel E. Altier and Thomas Patrick “Tom” Altier as well as in law's Elizabeth G. "Lisa" Speake, and Charles J. "Chuck" Speake.
Ted is survived by his nephew, Patrick Jason Altier, niece, Vanessa Altier Bishow, and great nephew Jason Daniel Altier,all of Tucson, AZ.

Dubose, Hiwilanimaikalanimai Keala Dubose of Newark and Maxwell K.C. Higa of Denver, CO.
Friends may stop by for an informal farewell celebration of Ted's life and to pay respects from 5 to 7 P.M. on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at THE J.E..HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME 118 W. Walnut St. in SHAWNEE, Ohio.
Ted’s ashes will be interned at Rendville Cemetery at a later date next to his wife. The family would like to extend special gratitude to Rich and Maryanne Reynolds and Ron Reynolds (close friends) and also to Corlyn's sister, Rebecca all of whom have helped care for Ted during his extended illness,
