Sandra Kay (McKee) Hooper

Sandra K. Hooper, 63, of Corning, Ohio passed away on October 14,2024 at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. Sandy was born Sept. 23, 1961, in Nelsonville, Ohio. She was a daughter, of the late Melvin and Wanda (Rutter) McKee. She enjoyed camping and being outdoors. Sandy had a green thumb and was an avid reader. There was nothing that she enjoyed more than spending time with her family. She lived by the code that a woman couldn’t have too many purses, as evidenced by a closet full of them! Sandy is survived by her children Stacy (Adam) Deffenbaugh, Erica Angle, and Robert (Kayla) Hooper; sister Rosemary Benhart; brother Melvin “Pete” McKee; grandchildren Faith (Christian) Carr, Isaiah (Deidra) McKee, Trinity Lavey, Amity Lavey, Harmonie Cooper, Libertie Hooper, Spencer Taylor, Slayter Taylor; two great-grandchildren Noah McKee and Mila Carr; good friend Mike “Monk” Altier; her two pets Bugsy and Dez; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by brothers Jim Martin, Dan Martin, Randy McKee, Steven McKee, and her nephew Timothy Fulk. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024 from 2:00-5:00 PM at the VFW shelter house in Nelsonville. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the J.E. HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME, 118 W. Walnut Street, Shawnee, Ohio 43782 to assist the family
