Ronald M. "Ron" Merckle

Ron was born November 27, 1943, in Moxahala, Ohio. He was a son of the late Manford Merckle and Pearl Haught Merckle.

Ron was a member of the Moxahala United Methodist Church, a United States Air Force Veteran, and a graduate of The Ohio University College of Engineering. Working as a civil engineer and surveyor in his professional life. He was the HMFIC and was involved in various businesses throughout the years.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Spergin Merckle; his daughter Brooke (Matt) Garrett; his sons Maney (Victoria) Merckle, Ryan (Amy) Merckle, Evan (Pey Fen) Merckle and Blake (Felicia) Merckle; brothers Manford (Gladys) Merckle Jr., William “Bill” Merckle, Phil (Tana) Merckle; sister Carolyn Parkerson; sister in law Olive Merckle; grandchildren Mila, Parker, Paige, and Grant Garrett, Braun Merckle, Landon and Madison Merckle, and McKenize, Dakota, and Zander Pargeon; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Zoey Merckle; his brother, Richard Merckle, and sister, Charlotte Shrigley; his sister-in-law, Sue Merckle, and brothers-in-law Robert Shrigley and Vance Parkerson.

Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021, at the Moxahala United Methodist Church 10600 Vine Street, Moxahala, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at the church with the Reverend Richard Newlon officiating.

Interment Merckle Family Cemetery, Moxahala.
