Rodger D. “Doodad” Markin, 63, of Corning passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at The Cleveland Clinic.

He is survived by his wife Vicki (McGrath); sons Shane (Amanda) Thress and Hendrix Renick; granddaughter Jeannette Thress; stepson Ian (Tori Peirce) Kern; grandson Kailas Kern; stepdaughter Chelisa Kern; brother Donald Markin; sister Lily (David) Oliver; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents Rodger was preceded in death by his, grandson Tristan Armondo Lee Tufts Thress, sisters Carolyn Sue Grannon and Ima Jean Holland; brothers Glennis ‘Rink” Markin, Gary Markin, and Alva Markin.
Honoring Rodger’s wishes, cremation will take place and a gathering will be held in his memory at a later time.
