Robert Martin “Bob” Pettit 66 of Warsaw lost his short battle with cancer and met his LORD and Savior on Wednesday June 24, 2026 at the Genesis Morrison House, Zanesville.

Bob was born March 6, 1960 in Zanesville, a son of the late Donald and Ruth Shipley Pettit Sr.

He graduated from Sheridan High School in 1978.

Bob married the love of his life, the late Beverly “Bev” Ann Williams, on October 13, 1979. They loved each other and built their family for 41 years; 5 children, 20 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Bob has worked at Clevite/Gould, the Longaberger Company, The Gathering Place, and Hopewell Industries. He has been a Preacher for many years at Corning and Hemlock Church of Christ. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; having cookouts, gatherings, family reunions, walking at Kids America, attending Karaoke at Highway 40 and spreading God’s word. Bob never met a stranger and shared jokes with everyone.

His children and their families; daughter Denise McCreary; Cyann Dickerson (Jasper, Vincent, Annalise and Wrenlee); Kobolt (Koby Lee), Raven, Grayson, Ciara, Cerise “Reese”, and Cienna Dickerson

Son Robert Pettit Jr.; Ruth Ann Pettit

Daughter Stephanie Pettit and Joe Kowalski; Evangeline and Joseph Kowalski

Daughter Sandy and Ben Rayburn; Benjamin, Brooklyn, Deacon, Jameson and Emersyn Rayburn.

Son Ryan and Jessica Pettit; Gavin, Gauge, Gunnar Wilson; Helena and Waylon Pettit.

Siblings; Becki and Randy Thomas, Don and Jane Pettit, Gary and Kelli Pettit, Roger Pettit, Jenni and Cliff Burk, Edie Rhodes and Tucker Randles; his stepmother Annie Pettit; several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Beverly “Bev” Ann Williams Pettit, his parents Donald and Ruth Shipley Pettit; his grandparents Fenton and Pauline Emmert Pettit and Val – Jonah and Edith Sims Shipley; his sister Denise Ann Pettit; sister-in-law Debbie (Bailey) Pettit; son-in-law Nick McCreary; nephews Levi Thomas and Jonothan Campbell.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday July 2, 2026 at the Hemlock Church of Christ 8672 High St SE Hemlock, OH 43730 with Delmar Jarvis officiating.

  Interment: New Reading Cemetery, Somerset.

Friends may call from 12-2 pm and 4-7 pm on Wednesday July 1, 2026 at the J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home, 118 W. Walnut Street, Shawnee, and from 12 noon to 1 P.M., at the Church on Thursday July 2,2026.
