Robert Edward Applemam “Ed” (Age: 75) of Crooksville, was born on August 20, 1950, and passed away peacefully at his home on August 30, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Ed was survived by the mother of his children, Tamela Appleman, and his children, Rayla (Steve) Tish, Annie Jones (Jesse), Bobbie (Ryan) Young, William (Tara) Appleman, and daughter at heart, Ashley (Appleman) Wrasman. Grandchildren, Kaige (Dominic), Zaide, Avery, Braya Jones, Trinity Cook, Adam, Eli Young, Stephenie Tish, Adyleigh, Cash Appleman, Owen, Ocean O’Brien, and multiple nieces and nephews.
Sisters, Mick Chapman, Helen Appleman, and Pat (Wilbert) Smith. Sister in-laws, Shirley Danielson, Carol Rose, and Bonnie Sanborn. Brother in-laws, Bob (Judy) Rorror, Lloyd Chapman, Ray Hayes, and Rodger (Debbie) Rose.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Beatrice Appleman. Sisters, Venita Plumb and Elise Rorror. Sister in-law, Chris Hayes. Brother in-law, John Rose and Daniel Danielson.
Ed was a graduate of Saint Aloysius, Class of 1968. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran (1968-1972), Retired Operating Engineer of Local 25, where he was a Chief Engineer and Crane Operator for various dredging companies. He also worked in the coal mines and was a true jack of all trades. His greatest love was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed working on the farm, supporting the New Lexington Panthers sports teams, shooting guns, and sitting around a fire, drinking Jack Daniels while surrounded by good company. Ed was a member of the New Lexington Elkes, Eagles, VFW Post 1952 of Pennsville, New Jersey, and of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Special thanks to Perry County Cancer Alliance, Dr. Haggenjos and staff, VFW Auxiliary 2806, Perry County V.A., Genesis Palliative Care (especially, Jessica Dorsey), Hospice Nurses, J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home, and all the family and friends who helped celebrate his 75th birthday.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
