Rita Kay Dodson 70 of Corning passed away Thursday January 5, 2023, at the Pickering House, Lancaster.
She was born August 28, 1952, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Robert and Billie Tanner Bayles.
Rita was a Military wife, while her husband Everette served our country as a member of the U. S. Army, Rita made sure the home front was taken care of, Everette always gave credit to Rita for allowing him to serve our country. Rita enjoyed dancing, cards, and hosting game night. She loved baking and cooking and sharing this love with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Wendy (Jerry) Starlin, Jason (Andrea Fuller) Dodson, Jerrod (Katherine Juarez) Dodson and Stepson Shon (Angela) Dodson; her grandchildren Mariah (Jacob Dunay) Starlin-Dunay and Emilee Starlin, Kylie and Ali Dodson and Ophelia Dodson Juarez; her sisters Carla (Fred) Monk, Kate (Dave) Parker and Joan (John) Bond; brother-in-law Leroy Dodson; sister-in-law’s Rose Marie Hale, Lois (Jerry Wheeler) Grant, Thelma (Jerry) Rehart, Doris (Rodney) Wesney, Ruth Ann Dodson, and Linda (Delbert) Morris; several nieces and nephews and last but not least her dog Annie.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Everette Dodson; her stepsister Susie Boros; her stepbrother Bill Gottke; her brother-in-law’s Charles, Andrew, John, Jim, and Lester Paul Dodson, and Bill Younkin; her sister-in-law’s Martha Belle Younkin, Ruth Kelly and Mary Ann Dodson, Ruth Ann Dodson, Pat Dodson, Sue Dodson, and Rose Dodson.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 6:00 pm on Sunday January 8, 2023, at the Bethany United Methodist Church, Corning.
Pastor Fred Monk officiating
Following services cremation will take place.
Friends may call from 2-5 pm on Sunday at the church.
