Rev. Clarence M Thompson 88, of Hemlock passed away at his home on Friday October 6, 2023.
Clarence was born on September 8, 1935 in Sharpsburg Ohio the oldest son of the late Clifford and Erdene (Foreman) Thompson
Clarence was a retired Methodist Minister, serving for over 40 years, starting at the Hemlock Methodist Church, and including the Moxahala Charge, the Webb’s Chapel Charge, and the Enterprise Charge, He was a graduate of the Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, a retired mechanical machinist from G.E of Logan Ohio, a United States Army Korean War Veteran, and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 69 years, Edna (Lanning) Thompson, his children Mark (Robin) Thompson, Jane Skon, David (Mary Kay) Thompson, Teresa (Jeff) Marks and Paul (Lisa) Thompson. grandchildren; Joel, Kati, Luke, Daniel, Joel David, Juliana, Rebekah, Amanda, Lora, Alejandra, Adrian, Justin, Trevor, and Brandon; 8 great-grandchildren; several brother and sister-in- laws, nieces and nephews
Besides his parents Clarence was preceded in death by his brothers Merle “Mickey” Thompson and Michael Thompson.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday October 10, 2023, at the SHAWNEE Methodist Church with the Rev Richard Newlon officiating.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Monday at the church.
Interment: Springer Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials contributions may be made to Ohio Health Hospice Athens Ohio, or The Joe Burrow Foundation.
