Megan Joy Wilson, 38, of Corning, passed away peacefully on Sunday, at Genesis hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born October 5, 1987, at Bethesda hospital in Zanesville, Ohio, she was the cherished daughter of Gregory and Lisa Wilson.
Megan will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and the radiant smile she shared so freely. She embraced each day with gratitude and a joyful outlook, bringing warmth and light into the lives of all who knew her.
She found true happiness in the simple beauty of life—spending time outdoors mushroom hunting, fishing, cutting wood alongside her dad, and soaking in the sunshine in the pool with her mother. Megan also enjoyed baking, caring for her home, and sharing quiet, loving moments cuddling with those closest to her.
Above all, Megan’s greatest love and proudest role was being a mother to her daughter, Ellie Joy, who was truly her sunshine—her one and only sunshine.
Megan was a graduate of Miller High School and had a special fondness for the color orange.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Ellie Joy; her parents, Gregory and Lisa Wilson; her siblings, Joshua Wilson of Johnstown, Matthew Wilson (Nathan Blackmore) of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Ciara (Scott) Russell of Johnstown; her maternal grandfather, David Manring; her paternal grandmother, Ruth Wilson of Congo; and many aunts and uncles, including Tony (Beth) Wilson, Troy (Kate) Manring, Terry (John) Andis, Larry (Robin) Wilson, Marilyn Wilson, Kay (Kenny) Dailey, Darrlyd Wilson, Lori (Dan) Brown, and Rolanda (Tom) Dodson; her sister Robin Starlin-Post (Jim) of Corning.
Megan also leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews: Ethan Wilson (The apple of her eye), Ava Strawn, Trystan Wilson-Rodriguez, Paisley, Louella, Lennox, Magnolia, Bryson Russell, and Madison and Drew Starlin.
Megan’s life was rooted in love, family, and connection. Though her time here was far too short, the love she gave so freely and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved maternal grandmother, Mary Manring, whom she lovingly called Mamaw, and her paternal grandfather Jim Wilson. As well as her brother-in-law Todd Starlin.
