Obituary
Marie Chappelear 84, of New Straitsville passed on on Sunday February 13, 2022, at the New Lexington Healthcare and rehabilitation center. Marie was born on March 17, 1937, in Phenix City Alabama, a daughter of the late Thurman and Annie Maude (Kilcrease) King.
Marie retired from Southern Local School district as a cook after 25 years of service, she was a former member of the Bluebell Chapter 151 O.E.S SHAWNEE
Surviving are her children, Sherry Matheny, Debbie (Randy) Nelson, Bill (Vickie) Chappelear, Carol (Dale) Brown and Vicky (Mike) Wheeler, grandchildren, Michelle (Rob) Barnette, Randy (Bethany) Nelson, Laurie (Lloyd) Needham, Jeff Ward, Billy Chappelear, Sonny Chappelear, JD (Mikala) Chappelear, Cody Chappelear, Dale (Terra) Brown, Kelsi (Shane) Luning and Halee (Bryan) Harper, and many great grandchildren, sisters, Nellie (James) Hales, and Jean Price, besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Sonny Chappelear, grandson Ryan Matthew Brown and great-granddaughter Kaitlyn Chappelear., 5 sisters and 3 brothers. The family would like to give a special thanks to Brooke Humphrey and Ayrie Bennett, for their loving care for Marie.Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday February 15, at THE J.E.HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME 118 W.Walnut St. SHAWNEE, funeral services will be held at 1p.m. on Wednesday February 16, 2022 at the funeral home.
