Kevin Inwood “Cornfed” Rittgers, 63, of New Straitsville passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at The Pickeringt House in Lancaster, Ohio.
He was born on June 14,1960 in Nelsonville. Kevin was a son of the late Bernard and Eloise Marilyn (Day) Rittgers.
Kevin was a carpenter by trade and a rambler at heart.
He was a former employee of Epic Construction Company, working alongside his nephew Elisha.
Kevin is survived by his brothers Keith Rittgers, Kelly Rittgers, and Christopher Rittgers; sisters Karen (Larry) Hamilton and Kathy (Pete) Flowers; sister-in-law Elizabeth “Sis” Rittgers; nieces and nephews Joshua (Naomi) Hamilton, Amy (Tim) Finley, Amanda (Nathen) Erber, Elisha (Kim) Hamilton, Courtney Rittgers, and Luke Flowers; several great nieces and nephews; and longtime friend John Hanning, along with many other friends.
Besides his parents Kevin was preceded in death by his brother Curt Rittgers, nephew Toby Rittgers, niece Karla Rittgers, and former wife and lifelong friend Mary Spencer- Rittgers.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at THE J.E. HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME. 118 West Walnut St, SHAWNEE, Ohio.
Funeral service will be held at 2 pm. on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at the funeral home, with Steven Delong officiating.
Interment New Straitsville Cemetery.
