John A. Pesimer Sr. 76 of New Lexington passed away Sunday April 18, 2021 at the Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster.
He was born June 29, 1944 in West Hamlin, W. Va. a son of late Thelma Blair Pesimer-Vannetter and Thomas Pesimer.
John was a member of Shawnee Masonic Lodge #526 F&AM, and the York Rite; Long time member of Shawnee Volunteer Fire Department, former Mayor and Council Member of the Village of Shawnee, former Police officer and he was a truck driver and former employee of Saltlick Township and Nico-fibers.
John is survived by his children Jill (Bill) Davis, John (Muricia) Pesimer, Thomas (Ann) Pesimer and Peggy Helphrey; grandchildren Doug (Lindsey) Pesimer, Jessica (Ron) Spires, Codey (Sarah) Spears, Corey (Paige) Spears, Kayla Wintermute, John David Pesimer, Arron Pesimer,Shanne (Zachary) Byers, Amber Helphrey, and Kyra Litton; 18 great grandchildren siblings, David Pesimer Dave (Sheri) Vannatter, Eugene (Tammy) Vannatter Elula Pesimer, and Special friend Autumn Wilson
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Thomas Pesimer, Douglas Pesimer, staff sergeant Daniel Pesimer, Edith (Ben) Darlington, Goldie (Buster) Cook; son in law John W. “Bill” Helphrey and great grandchildren Na’Kyah Spears and Jesse James Pesimer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday April 23, 2021 at the J.E Humphrey Funeral Home Shawnee, with Randy Paige officiating .
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Corning.
Friends may call from 5-8 pm on Thursday at the funeral home with Masonic services being conducted at 7:30pm
