Joan King

Joan King 81 of New Straitsville passed away Tuesday January 12, 2021 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster.

She was born December 28, 1939 in Westerville, Ohio.  Joan had a full life, her sisters Judy and Betty grew up very close with a special friendship that lasted a lifetime.  Her most loved job was as a bartender for over 20 years at Matthew's Cafe where she made so many friends.  She was a loving Mother and Grandmother, at the end of her life seeing her grandchildren was her biggest pleasure.   

She is survived by her children Tammy (Jeff Doss) Warren, Joann Warren, Antionette (Jim) Jacobs, Roger (Marge) Harlan, Christine Hormann and Tim (Laura) Warren; sister Betty (Lefty) Wade; grandchildren Johnnie, Heath, Heather, Hilliary, Claire, Scott, Ashleigh, Austin, Michael, Andrew, Ashley and Kayla; great-grandchildren Regan, Bennie, Dylan, MacKenzie, Aiden Thurston, Keigan, Darrien, Grayson, Phoenix, Marissa, Billy, Mason, Zayn, Alyssa, Destiny, Brynlee and Kendall.

She was preceded in death by her husband William “Lawrence” King; her parents Clara Rollins Spencer and Homer Morris; her sister and brother in law,  Judy (Dave) Craig; her granddaughters Clarrisa and McKenzie.

Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Saturday January 16, 2021 at New Straitsville Cemetery, with Rev Mike Thompson officiating
