Jimmy Williams Obituary

Jimmy “Cuz” (Jimbo) Williams, 51, of Shawnee, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to everyone he met passed away Tuesday, July 30 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by his wife and children.

Cuz had a larger than life personality, who never met a stranger and everyone he did meet became his friend. Not shy about his proud southern heritage, he loved his Georgia Bulldogs and giving his northern friends and family grief when they cheered for the “Suckeyes”. He was also a huge fan of racing and mud bogs.

To say he was a huge supporter of Miller Falcons Athletics would be the understatement of the year. He served as the voice of the Falcons for many years, announcing games and shouting his catchphrases “Make a tunnel for these boys and Make some NOISE!” and yelling “TOUCHDOWN FALCONS!” when they scored.  He was a longtime bus driver for the Southern Local School District and an honorary member of the cheerleading squad.

Cuz is survived by the love of his life and wife of 26 years, Dahlene Williams, aka “Mama Cuz”; daughter, Haley “Baby Gurl” (Dustin Spencer) Williams; son Andrew “Mish” Williams; the apple of his eye, grandson, Cooper Spencer as well as Sisters Faith (Rogelio) Martinez; Lora Lea Williams; and Connie Fonda, all of Georgia; Sister-in-Law, aka Outlaw Brenda (Gary) Carney of New Straitsville;  special nephews Matthew (Chloe) Carney, Chris Carney and Gerald Carney as well as several nieces and nephews; Aunts Val (Ken) Crisp; Annie (Dave) Eaton; and cousins Brion (Amy) Gribble and Lori Gribble.

In addition to his immediate family, Cuz leaves behind many special friends including Sean & Melinda Bartley, Steve “B-man” Blosser, the entire Adkins family, Woody Wood, Sambo Taylor, Terrell Taylor, Cheryl Dodson and her family, Brandy Spicer, Amy Van Bibber and many, many others too numerous to mention.

Besides his parents, James Arnel Williams and Lorelda “Penny” Mundell Williams, Cuz was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandmother Mazie Williams; Maternal Grandparents, Martha & Henry Mundell; Uncle, Clarence Williams; Aunt and Uncle, Bobbi & Doc Taylor; Mother-in-Law Betty Meeks; and special friend Wayne Olmstead.

Visitation will be held at the New Straitsville United Methodist Church on Monday, Aug. 5 from 2 to 8pm with funeral services being held on Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 1pm with Pastor Richard Fitch officiating.

Following graveside services, at the Shawnee Cemetery, the family invites you to gather with them in the upstairs of the Corning Eagles for a time of food, fellowship and sharing of memories. Anyone wishing to bring desserts should contact Cheryl Dodson at 740-504-0340.

In true Cuz fashion, there will be a Celebration of his Life held on Saturday, Aug. 17 beginning at 6pm at 2360 Twp Rd. 312 SE, Crooksville.

Donations in Cuz’s memory can be made to the Perry County Cancer Alliance, P. O. Box 724, New Lexington, OH 43764.
