Jerry Lee Bray, 56, of Shawnee, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024.
He was born on February 8, 1967, to Sandra and the late Glen Bray.
Jerry found joy in spending time with his wife, children, their partners, and adored grandbabies. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding the trails, where he never met a stranger. He was happiest when working with his wife on their property to create a beautiful home for their family. He served as a volunteer fire fighter and was a member of the New Straitsville Masonic Lodge 484 F&AM. He was a cancer survivor and supporter of the City of Hope and Perry County Cancer Alliance.
For 21 years, Jerry was a heavy equipment mechanic for Zemba Brothers, where he and the crew considered one another family. He was known for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and dedication to family. The overwhelming number of stories about the people he helped and lives he touched have been comforting for his family during this difficult time. They believe that he’s in Heaven- running a batch and building his dream garage.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Kelli, his mother Sandy Bray, and his children: Emilie (Shyla) Bray, Kylee (Jesse) Higgins, Hillary (Korrd) Dixon, Meghan (Andy) McCord, Jake (Kayla) Walters, Alison (Marvin Post) Bray, and close nephew Ryan Green. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Baylor McCord, Dylan McCord, Moxy McCord and Trent Rake as well as his sister Penny Green, brother Steven (Anne) Bray, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and close family friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday May 14, 2024, at the New Straitsville Methodist Church, with Rev Carolyn Hoskinson officiating.
Following services family and friends are invited to the New Straitsville Fire House to share in food and fellowship.
