Janet Sue Williams Arkley, 79, of Shawnee passed away at her home on Monday, December 18, 2023.
She was born October 25, 1944, in Hemlock, a daughter of the late David Harley and Pauline Juanita Fouts Williams.
She was a retired employee of Southern Local School District where she served as the Assistant Treasurer and EMIS Coordinator for more than 30 years. She was the Saltlick Township Clerk for many years and a former Postal Service Clerk. She volunteered as a Cub Scout Den Mother and Brownie Advisor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Arkley. They were married 37 years.
She is survived by her children John (Kelli) Arkley, Jason Arkley, Karen (Clay) Jenkins and Andrew Arkley; her sister Sandy (George) Owen; grandchildren Kyle (Ashley) Yeater, Sarah Yeater, Matthew Jenkins, and Micah Jenkins; great-grandchildren Waylon Ohlinger and Paisley Yeater; nephews Dave Owen, Tim (Kris) Owen and Steve (Nikki) Owen; great-nieces and nephews Alex, MacKenzie, Kate, Brenin and Becca; and her special friend Buddy the Cat.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, December 22, 2023, at the J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Shawnee with Pastor Richard Fitch officiating.
Interment: Shawnee Cemetery
Friends may call from 2-8 P.M. on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at the funeral home.
