James "Jim" Denny Obituary

James Newton Denny 83 of Shawnee passed away Tuesday June 15, 2021, at the Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster.

He was born March 13, 1938, in Falls Township, Hocking County a son of the late Jacob Newton and Rita M. Novak Denny.

He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Corning. He was currently serving as a Saltlick Township Trustee; Member of the Shawnee Ridge Riders; He was a heavy equipment operator his whole life working for Sidwell Stone Quarry and Shawnee Coal Company.

 He is survived by his children Rich (Nancy) Denny, Keith (Sandra) Denny, Cheryl Winegardner, Rita Castor, Jake (Darlene) Denny and Newt (Amy) Denny; sister Rose Stickdorn; 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Flora Alice Brunton Denny; infant son James Donald Denny; his infant granddaughter Elizabeth Marie Denny; his granddaughter Sarah Lynn Denny; brother Richard Denny; sister Yvonne Brunton; son-in-law’s Mike Castor, David McKnight and Bart Winegardner

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday June 19, 2021, at Saint Bernard Catholic Church, Corning, with Father Don Maroon celebrant and Father Todd Lehigh co-celebrant.

Interment: Shawnee Cemetery

Friends may call from 9-11 am on Saturday at the church.
