James "Jim" D Burgess

James “Jim” Burgess 66, of New Straitsville passed away at his home on Wednesday June 21, 2023. Jim was born on September 4, 1956, in Logan Ohio a son of the late Ken and Marylin (Miller) Burgess.

 Jim was one heck of a guy with a contagious laugh, he was a former employee of North American Rockwell, and The Coal Township trustees. Jim made use to get his nephews in the woods, early and often in the lives, and taught them to become excellent marksmen.

He is survived by his daughter Becky (Mike Sanford) Wilson, brother Ken Burgess, and sister Karen (Jeff) Sullivan, nephews Jay, Jim and Sam, nieces Amanda and Cheyene, great nieces and nephews Hunter, Alex, Emma, and Gracie.; Best friend Daryell Mullins and his beloved dog Jake.

Besides his parents Jim was preceded in death by his Brother Gary Burgess and sister Debbie Seymour; his nephew Jesse James Sinnott

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday June 24, 2023, at THE J.E. HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME 118 West Walnut St. SHAWNEE. Funeral Services will be held at 6 p.m. with Mike Thompson officiating.
