James W. Berry, 74, of Moxahala passed away at his home surrounded by his family.
Jim was born on July 21, 1947, in Moxahala, a son of the late Richard and Kay (Reid) Berry.
He was a United States Army Vietnam War era veteran and a retired heavy equipment operator for Harris & Heavener Excavating. Jim was a member of the Corning Eagles Aires 463 and the Corning American Legion Post 327.
Jim parted with his 1969 Road Runner, but he never forgot about it. He loved animals and could never leave one behind. And if Jim was working in his garden and you stopped to talk, he would hand you a hoe.
Jim is survived by his wife Jane (Walker) Berry; children Torie (Wayne) Johnson, Larry Rushing, Lisa (Chris) Porter, Corrina (Jeremiah) Keller, and Jenny (Rick) Davis; special grandson Brandon (Kaley) Berry, sister Diane (Don) Underhill; and brothers Rich (Sue) Berry and Jeff (Nancy) Berry.
9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews
Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Debbie Rushing and grandson Eric Bussey.
