Gregory Wayne Altier

Gregory Wayne Altier 65 of Congo passed away Thursday December 19, 2024, at the Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster.

He was born December 30, 1958, in Zanesville a son of Ann Raub Altier and the late Leo A. Altier.

Greg was a former employee of Altier Oil  and then he and his wife started and ran Green Up Septic service; Greg also ran his family farm.

Besides his mother he is survived by his wife Shana Jones Altier; his children Rob Spergin, Jamie (Melissa) Spergin, Derek (Jackie) Altier, Seth (Christa) Altier and Caleb Altier; sister Cinda Frasure; brothers Mike Altier, Chris (Cindy) Altier and Pat Altier; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Mike Jones; dear friend Joe Humphrey; several other extended family members.

Besides his father he was preceded in death by his first wife Cheryl Alfman Altier; brothers Anthony Altier and Brent Altier.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Sunday December 22, 2024 at the Congo Community Church, with Jamie Spergin officiating.

Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Corning.

Friends may call from 5-9pm on Saturday December 21, 2024 at the J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Shawnee and from 10am until 1 pm on Sunday at the church.
