George Winfield Colvin Jr. 80 of Hemlock passed away Tuesday February 11, 2025, at his home.
He was born March 21, 1944, in San Diego, California a son of the late Bess Hughes Colvin and George Winfield Colvin Sr.
George was a U.S. Navy veteran; he was a draftsman engineer at LEMPCO, in New Lexington and Westermans in Bremen; he was a member of the Athens County Hogs Chapter and the Shawnee Masonic Lodge # 526 F&AM; he was the Colvin Family Genealogist, before it was popular.
He was survived by his wife Garnet Runyon Colvin; his daughter Tina (Chris) Welch; sister Anna (Paul) Barnes, Tom (Alicia) Colvin, Dan (Donna) Colvin; sister-in-law Debi Colvin; grandchildren Alyssa (Cody) Burns, Nathan (Keeley) Bateson and Matthew (Taylor) Colvin; 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son George W. Colvin III, infant sons John W. Colvin and Duane E. Colvin, his brother Fred Colvin.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday February 17, 2025, at the J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home 118 W. Walnut Street, Shawnee.
Interment: Springer Cemetery, Hemlock.
Friends may call from 2-6 pm on Sunday February 16, 2025, and from 11am–1pm on Minday at the funeral home
