Geneva Dawson

Geneva Dawson 94, of Corning Passed away on Wednesday September 14,2022 at the Highland Oak Nursing Home in McConnelsville Ohio.

She was born on December 19, 1927, in Santoy Ohio a daughter of the late Thomas E and Grace (Gartin) Barron,

Geneva was an amazing, caring hard working woman, be it cutting firewood for the family home at the age of eight, providing for her family in various factory jobs or repairing her house roof at the age of 85; Geneva was adventurous and selfless; she was a graduate of Corning High school, where she was their Homecoming Queen, a founding charter member of the Corning Eagles Aires 463 Ladies Auxiliary

She is survived by her daughter Debi (Don) Pingle, her grandchildren Brian Van Way, Kaitlyn Van Way, Shona Pierce, Jason Barron, Paul Barron Jr. and John Barron, her sister Irma Russell, special friends Wilda and Jerry Willison, many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Leston Dawson, son Paul Barron, sisters Ollie Barron, Emily Bicknell, and Hazel Cales, and brother Raymond Barron.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday September 18,2022 at THE J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home 118 W. Walnut St, Shawnee, with Rev Mary Perani officiating.

Interment: Zion Cemetery, Portersville.

 Friends may call from 11 A.M. until the time of the service.
