Francis Leroy Hanning

Francis Leroy Hanning 89 of New Straitsville passed away Friday November 8, 2019 at the Hocking Valley Community Hospital.

He was born January 27, 1930 in Oreville a son of the late Elmer and Mary Hanning.

He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran, he retired from Ludowici Tile Plant in New Lexington after 45 years; he enjoyed hunting, fishing and wood working.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 66 years Anna Marie Fletcher Hanning, they were married November 20, 1953; he is also survived by his children Jean Ann Strohl, Jim (Lora) Hanning, John (Tina) Hanning and  Jeff (Dodie) Hanning; his sister Patty Crane; his brother George Hanning; grandchildren Traci, Shawn, Shannon, and Josh Vollmer, Jamie (Chad) Geil, Staci Hanning, Trey Wilson, Adam Wilson, Litisha (Chris) Finan, Cassie Hanning, Kayla (Seth) Rankin, Steven McLain and Philip Forester; several great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and the family of Bo Cox

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Wilma Marple; his brothers Gerald Sampson, Tom, Tim, Raymond and Vance Hanning; 2 infant brothers; great-great granddaughter Ivy Williams and his son-in-law Ron Strohl.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Tuesday November 12, 2019 at the J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home 118 W. Walnut Street, Shawnee with Pastor Mike Martin officiating.

Interment: New Straitsville Cemetery.
