Elmer L. Glanemann Sr. 78 of Corning passed away Tuesday November 28, 2023 at the Hospice of Central Ohio at the The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
He was born February 9, 1945, in Shawnee, a son of the late Ernest and Frances Brooks Glanemann.
Elmer was a retired employee of Buckingham Coal Company, he was a longtime member of the Corning Fire Department and a Monroe Township Trustee for 30 years, he was a former employee of the Village of Corning and the Corning Water Department. Elmer was a fun-loving person that always enjoyed telling a good joke or story.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Ann Dunwoody Glanemann; his son Elmer (Suzie Adams) Glanemann Jr.; grandson Jeremy Madison; great grandchildren Charlotte, Isaac and Lillian Madison; sisters Alice Bourne and Tilly Glanemann; several in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Ernest, Haddis, Arnold, Barney, Emmett and Kenneth Glanemann and Jack Carroll; sisters Lorrett Brooks and Phyliss Simpson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A. M. on Saturday December 2, 2023 at the J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Shawnee with Pastor Mike Moler officiating.
Interment: Beech Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. on Friday December 1, 2023 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Corning American Legion.
