Donald "Donnie" Edward Manring

Donald “ Donnie” Edward Manring, 75, of Shawnee, passed away on November 6, 2021.

 He was born October 29, 1946 in Shawnee, a son of the late Harold and Helen (King) Manring.

 Donnie was retired from Rockwell International of Newark. He was a proud member of the first graduating class of Miller High School. Donnie was an athlete all his life and earned the honor of All-Southeastern Ohio football. He was a champion softball player and coach, and an outstanding bowler competing in tournaments all around the country. He was proud and honored to be inducted into the Perry County Baseball Hall of Fame. Donnie was a member of the SHAWNEE United Methodist Church where he served as a lay leader. He was a lifetime member of the New Lexington Elks and the N.R.A. He was grateful to have been a contestant on the game show Cash Explosion.

Surviving is his wife of 34 years, Debra Annette (Dixon) Manring; daughters Dawn Manring and Angie (Robert McGrath) Manring; son Todd (DeAnna) Manring; step-children, who he loved like as his own, Dusti (Tony) McCoy and Rocky (Vanessa) Myers;, brother David (Mary) Manring; 9 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchild.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Jean Kennedy and Janice Wohrle; and great grandson Anen James “AJ” Layne.

A funeral service will be held at 2 P. M. on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at The SHAWNEE United Methodist Church with the pastor Charlene Mitchell officiating, where friends may call from 12:00 P.M until the time of the service.

Friends are invited to gather in the church basement following the service to share in food and fellowship. Following services cremation will take place.
