Delbert Andrew "Butch" Morris

Delbert Andrew “Butch” Morris 76 of Shawnee, Ohio, passed away at the Fairfield Medical Center on Wednesday October 18, 2023, after a brief illness.

He was born on June 12, 1947, in Crestline, Ohio, the son of Elveree Grace (Morris) Bush.

Survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda Mae (Dodson) Morris, daughter Grace Ann (Carla) Morris of Logan, son Roy Andrew (Cheryl) Morris of Somerset, grandson Jacob Andrew Morris of Somerset; several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his infant son Joseph Andrew Morris, his brother Roy James Morris, his mother Elveree Bush, his grandfather Joseph Andrew Morris, special aunt Clalee Ward, several aunts, uncles, brother-in-laws, and sister-in-laws.

He worked as a valued employee of Cheney Tire for 28 years, where he performed service calls to change tires at many area farms and at large scale mining operations throughout the state. He was a kind, genuine, caring, devoted spouse, father, and grandfather. He always attended his children’s and grandchild’s sporting events to cheer them on. He never met a stranger, and he often would strike up a meaningful conversation with anyone. He enjoyed feeding and watching the birds and taking care of his dogs. He was very competitive when playing card games with his family and friends.

He was very loved and will be greatly missed by his immediate family, and his several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Monday October 23, 2023, at the J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Shawnee, with Gary Stoneking officiating.

Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Corning.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Sunday and from 11:00 am to 1:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.
