Debra Sperling

Debra Sperling passed away peacefully at her home in New Lexington, Ohio, on May 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and the faith that carried her throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Hilda Sperling; her husband, Donald G. Brown; and her elder brother, David Sperling.

She is survived by her younger brother, Michael Sperling; her five children, James Green, Jeremy Green (Amber Ousterling-Green), Adam Green, Amanda Chavez-Berry (Leon Berry), and Andrea Chavez; her ten beloved grandchildren, Anthony Green (Heather Green), Zoe Ferrell, Christian Harrington, Samantha McCord (Stevie McCord), Benjamin Chavez, Blake Green, Shelby Brown, Heaven Brown, Braden Green, and Naomi Lopez; and her two great-grandchildren, Sophia Green and Aiden Green.

Family meant everything to her. She loved deeply, prayed faithfully, and carried a genuine compassion for people that touched everyone who knew her.

She was a graduate of the University of Phoenix and retired after many years of dedicated service as a Program Director in the mental health field. Helping others was not simply her profession, but the reflection of who she was. She devoted her life to encouraging, supporting, and caring for people through both her work and her everyday relationships.

Her love for others extended into her church family at Drake’s House of Prayer, where she remained deeply committed to her faith and community. She never hesitated to share the love of Christ with those around her and was known for her bold faith, kind heart, and willingness to encourage others through prayer, conversation, and simple acts of love.

She will be remembered for her strength, compassion, unwavering faith, and the deep love she carried for her family. Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her legacy of love, faith, and service will continue through the many lives she touched.

A celebration of life service will be held at Drake’s House of Prayer, 8251 Scenic Road SE, Corning, OH 43730 on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 11:00am.
