Dayle R “Bob” Elswick 82, of Corning Ohio, passed away at his home on Wednesday November 29, 2023.
He was born on March 22,1941 in Zanesville Ohio, a son of the late Ross and Blanche (Burgess) Elswick.
Bob was a long-time coal miner and Heavy Equipment operator, who worked for various outfits over the years from Kiener’s Wrecking in the early years to Buckingham Mining in the later years. He was a devoted Father, faithful man, a hard-working man, and a caring man.
Bob was a United State Army Vietnam War Veteran, and a member of the Corning American Legion Post 327.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Stacy (Adam) Deffenbaugh, and Erica Angle; son Robert Hooper; grandchildren, Faith (Christian) Carr, Isaiah McKee, Trinity Lavey, Amity Lavey, Harmony Cooper; and Liberty Hooper great-grandchildren, Mila Carr and Noah McKee; his brother Wayne Elswick and his sister-in-law Ann Elswick
Besides his parents Bob was preceded in death by his brother Tom Elswick.
There will be a celebration of Bob’s life on Sunday December 10, 2023, at The Corning- Monroe Civic center from Noon until 4p.m.
Military Honors will be conducted at Noon on Sunday December 10th at the Civic Center.
