David Arthur Severance Jr.

David A. Severance Jr. 51 of New Straitsville passed away on May 2, 2024, at the OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.

 He was born July 7, 1972, in Zanesville, a son of David and Zelma Pittman Severance of New Straitsville.

David was one of a kind, a true inspiration to how we all should be. Deemed as our personal “taxi”, David would never hesitate to help someone out, he would drop everything at a moment’s notice just to come to your aid. A true treasure.

Besides his parents he is survived by his brothers Danny Severance and Darrell (Tiffany) Severance of New Lexington; sister Michelle (Thomas) Nixon of Lancaster; nieces Victoria (Ronald) Barton and Chelsey Severance of New Lexington; nephew Thomas Nixon Jr. of Lancaster; great niece and nephew Kelsi Severance and Ronald Barton Jr.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friend James Garey of New Lexington.

David was preceded in death by his grandparents Louis and Thelma Severance of Shawnee and Truman and Zelma Pittman of Somerset; infant nephew Danny Blake Severance; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Per David’s wishes cremation will take place and no services will be observed at this time.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Shawnee.
