David Wayne Lunsford

David Wayne Lunsford 59 of Lancaster passed away at the Fairfield Medical Center Thursday June 9, 2022.

He was born November 21, 1962, in Pomeroy; He was a 1981 graduate of Miller High School where he proudly represented the Falcons on the gridiron; he was a former employee of the Southeastern Correctional Institution in Lancaster; he was a die-hard Pittsburg Steelers fan, and an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan; he enjoyed Harley Davidsons and late model dirt track racing.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Melody Embrey Lunsford; his sons Brandon (Molly) Lunsford and Josh (Angie) Lunsford; his granddaughters Lilly, Iris, Willow, Violet, Peyton, and Jordyn; his sister Joyce and her deceased husband Phil Stanley, who were like second parents; brother Kenneth (Laura) Lunsford; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Katherine Alshire Lunsford, brothers Charles Lunsford, Leonard “June” Lunsford Jr., Jack Lunsford, Bill Lunsford, and Don Lunsford, his sisters Brenda Graham, and Betty Dick.

Friends may call from 4-8 pm Wednesday June 15, 2022, at the J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Shawnee.
