Daniel Lee "Dano" Jones

Daniel Lee “Dano” Jones 65 of Portersville passed away at his home on Sunday December 24, 2023.

  He was born January 28, 1958, in Nelsonville, a son of the late Johnny Lewis and Mary Lou Shreves Jones.

  He was a 1976 graduate of Miller High School; he was from a baseball family and coached little league for 16 years. He enjoyed his Busch Heavys, while rooting for The Buckeyes and The RAIDERS and spending time with his family; be it camping, fishing, horseshoes, or corn hole. He took great pride in working in the oil fields for 47 years for Greenland Petroleum, Altier Brothers, Dusty Drilling and Salvage and he was owner-operator of M.I.T.

  Dan is survived by his children and proud of: Joe (Ashleigh Hooker) Jones, Daniel (Leslie) Jones, Annette (Clifton) Cox, Rachel (Michael) Russell and Dorothy (Austin McGrew) Jones; step-children Kerry Wesney and Todd Chapman; his four legged boys Kruz and Jack;  his brothers and sister Terry (Kathy) Jones, Johnny (Sandy) Jones and Tina (Allen) Watkins; grandchildren Kaige, Zaide, Avery, and Braya Jones, Sydney and Reece Jones, Blayton and Eva Cox, Elyse and Vayda Russell, Evelyn Ray and soon to arrive Baby girl McGrew, Paul Barnes III, Elijah Chapman, Issiah Barnes and Hannah Chapman; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. on Friday December 29, 2023, at the J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Shawnee with Rev Carolyn Hoskinson officiating.

Friends may call from 2-7 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.

Following services cremation will take place.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist the family.
