Charles W. “Bill” Canter 85 of Shawnee, passed away on Friday February 28, 2025, at The Pickering House Fairhope Hospice of Lancaster.
Bill was born on January 2, 1940, in New Straitsville Ohio, the son of late Catherine (Hoy) Brunton and W. Dwight “Peanut “Canter.
Bill retired from Nico fibers of Shawnee, he enjoyed fishing and loved his Dogs.
He is survived by children, Sue (Pat Wohrle) Denny, Mary (Tony) Zimmerman, Bill (Joyce) Canter, Chuck (Stephanie) Canter, Chad Canter and Linda Queen, Brother, Tom (Margaret) Brunton, sister Patricia Muldoon and. several grandchildren, nieces and nephews and His beloved Dog Taco.
Besides his mother and father, Bill was preceded in death by his wife Vera Canter, sons Jeff Canter, Lynn Canter and infant Tommy Canter. Sister Linda Whalen, and his dad Jake Brunton who raised him.
Calling will be from 5-7 on Tuesday March 4th, 2025, at THE J.E. HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME 118 W. Walnut St. SHAWNEE. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Fitch Officiating. Bill’s wishes for cremation will be honored and in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Fairhope Hospice- Pickering House 282 Sells Rd. Lancaster Ohio 43130. The family would like to Thank the staff at the Pickering House and Fairhope Hospice for the amazing care and concern they show Bill and the family.
