Carolyn Ruth Casto Scott 74 of Junction City passed away Wednesday August 30, 2023, at the Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster.
She was born March 20, 1949, in Charleston, West Virginia, a daughter of Helen Leota Casto and the late Robert C. Casto.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her loving husband of 31 years Delmar Scott Sr.; two sons Bradley A. Collins and James C. Harris; stepchildren Kathy Hinkle, Cindy Dickerson, Mark Scott, Sue Scheirer, Beverly Renick, Marilyn Gaughan and Delmer Johnson; several grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Besides her father she was preceded in death son James William “Billy” Harris Jr., her daughter Karen Ann Collins and stepson Jeffrey A. Scott.
Carolyn was a graduate of Morgan High School and a retired employee from Sunbridge Rehabilitation of New Lexington; she loved to spend her free time researching genealogy and making contact, with distant relatives to unlock her Native American heritage and visiting pow-wows; she loved to travel, listen to country music, and talk with everyone.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday September 5, 2023, at the J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home, 118 W. Walnut Street Shawnee, with Pastor Richard Fitch officiating.
Interment: Maplewood Cemetery, New Lexington.
Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.
