Anna Mae Lanning, 96, of New Straitsville passed away on August 7, 2024 at New Lexington Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
She was born August 2, 1928 in New Straitsville. Anna Mae was the daughter of the late William A. and Loretta (McQuade) Beck.
Anna Mae retired from Southern Local Schools, where she served the district as the Clerk Treasurer. She was also a former employee of the United States Post Office and Wilson’s Grocery Store in New Straitsville.
She is survived by her daughters Kathye Lanning, Lori Lanning, and Lisa (Ray) Huffman; son Lynn (Jill) Lanning; eleven grandchildren Jensen (Wayne) Ronk, Jalynn (Anthony) LaGory, Aidan Lanning, Tiffani (Seth) Matheny, Lacey Lanning, Scott Taulbee, Elaine (Baron) Pritchett, Theresa (Dennis) Hardrick, Marion (Brian) Bentley, Stephanie (Richie) Dillon, and Christa (Shawn) Hannah; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; nephew Kyle (Bridget) Beck; brother-in-law Gene (Marie) Lanning; and sister-in-law Edna Thompson.
Besides her parents, Anna Mae was preceded in death by her husband Ernest O. Lanning; brother William J. Beck; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4:00PM-8:00 PM on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024 at the JE HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME,118 W. Walnut Street, SHAWNEE, Ohio 43782.
Following visitation, a prayer service will be held at 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2024 at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in New Straitsville.
