Paula Kay Bourne, 73, of Junction City passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at The Pickering House FairHope Hospice of Lancaster.
Paula was born on March 19, 1950, in Logan, Ohio, a daughter of the late Henry and Betty (Leonard) Kunkler.
She is a long-time member of the Bremen Holiness Church family. She loved her flowers and quilting. Paula provided health care for people with disabilities, and, in the early years of her marriage, was employed by Goodyear.
Paula is survived by her husband of 55 years, Lawrence Bourne; eight children: Kelly (Mark) Sweet, Jenny (Brandi) Bourne, Wendy (Kelly) Nelson, Lawrence Jr. (Tami) Bourne, Lori Shaw (Mark York), Chris (Kelly) Bourne, Aaron (Annie) Bourne and Andy (Tiffany) Bourne; sister, Kathy Gold; brothers: Joseph Kunkler and Chris Kunkler; 25 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and others who held a special place in her heart, including her longtime close friend, Becky Stratton. Besides her parents, Paula was preceded in death by her sister Donna Welch.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at The J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home, located at 118 W. Walnut St. Shawnee, Ohio, with Reverend Roger Hatfield officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27 and 9-10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 28, at the funeral home.
