Connie Burns

Constance L. “Connie” Burns 74 of Canal Winchester, went to be with the Lord on Thursday March 14, 2024 at the Inn at Winchester Trail. Her sister Marsha and her niece Tara were at her side.

She was born April 29, 1949 in Shawnee a daughter of the late Lawrence D. and Bernice M. Moody Burns.

She graduated from Miller High School in Perry County’s Southern Local School District, class of 1967; Connie retired from Motorists Mutual Insurance Company, of Columbus, where she served as an insurance claim specialist for more than 40 years. She was a member of the Shawnee Blubell Chapter 151 O.E.S. She enjoyed traveling throughout her life. In her later years she enjoyed spending time with her many nieces and nephews, especially her great niece Brooke Floyd. She was always involved in activities with other members of her family and friends. Connie attended Maple Grove United Methodist Church in Columbus until her health declined.

Connie is survived by her sister Marsha (Ron) Hinton of Reynoldsburg; her brother Rick Burns of Bremen; her cousins Robert Moody of Midland, Michigan and Rolland Burns of Zanesville; her sister-in-law Ruth Ann Burns of Columbus and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters Margaret A. “Peggy” McGruder and Elaine Burns Higgins; her brothers Lawrence D. Burns Jr, (Carolyn), Robert E. Burns (Virginia) and John William Burns.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Monday March 18, 2024 at the Dwayne Spence Funeral Home 550 Hill Road N, Pickerington and from 11A.M. until 2 P.M. on Tuesday March 19, 2024 at the Shawnee Methodist 317 East Walnut Street, Shawnee.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at the church, with Eastern Star Services starting the services at 2:00 P.M.

Interment: Shawnee Cemetery
