Brandon Payne Obituary

In the passing of Brandon "Jace" Payne on April 4, 2024, the world lost not just a bright young soul but also a true example of kindness and compassion. He was born on September 1, 1999, in Lancaster.

While working at the Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster and pursuing his paralegal studies at Ohio University- Lancaster, Jace always found time to extend a helping hand to those less fortunate. He was a member of the Hall of Heroes Iron Gym in Lancaster, and he was a huge fan of rap music. A true "cat guy" at heart, Jace shared a special bond with his best feline friend, Buddy.

He is survived by his parents, Theresa (Jimmie Seward) Payne and Jason (Marsha Kasler) Payne; his brother, Jordan (Krista) Dickens; his paternal grandmother, Barbara Payne; his maternal grandparents, Charlotte (Rich) Hinkle and John Woofter; his nephew and nieces, Bentley, Madlynn, and Willow; and his aunts and uncles: Rhawny (Anthony) Riley, John (Alicia) Woofter Jr., Sarah Phillips, Richard Wolfe, Tim & Julie Cordle, and Nathan Payne. Jace also leaves behind special cousins Coty Phillips, Ryne Payne, Aubree & Eva Riley; best friend Dylan Cooley, Dylan’s boys whom he referred to as his “nephews” Orlando and Odin. Along with numerous Great Aunts & Uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Kirstin Y. Vollmer; his grandfather, Glenn W. Payne; and his great-grandparents, Gene, and Yvonne Brunton.
